In loving memory of George "Punk" Ball: 1944-2026

George “Punk” Ball of Glenoma, Washington, passed away May 30, 2026, at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

Punk was born June 18, 1944, in Morton, Washington, the son of Clara and James Ball. He attended Glenoma Grade School and graduated from White Pass High School.

Punk spent many summers at his Grandma Tiller’s farm, spending time with all of his cousins.

Punk was the rock of the whole family, and it was a big family. He is survived by his wife, Linda. They were married for 54 years and made their home in Glenoma. He is also survived by two grandsons, Jesse Bridges and Austin Cheney; and one great-granddaughter, Journey Bridges. He loved each of them so much. Punk took them hunting and fishing and taught each one how to drive his John Deere tractor. He loved and spoiled each one of them.

He had numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. They would usually have a house full of kids and loved every minute of it. They all loved their Uncle Punk.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by his brother, Delbert Workman; and sisters, Trula “Cookie” Stamper and Sharon Holcomb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and James Ball; brothers, Dale Workman, Ed Workman and Jim Ball; and sisters, Mina Cheney, Corbetta “Corki” Deliso and Verna Powell.

A celebration of life will be held on June 20th at 12 p.m. at the Glenoma Fire Hall.
