In loving memory of Douglas Lawrence Hill: 1927-2025

Douglas Lawrence Hill passed away on April 10, 2025, at 98 years. He was born Feb. 10, 1927, in Curtis, Washington. Doug's parents were Louis Hill and Martha Ellen Hill.

Doug enlisted in the Navy in 1945 and served on a ship in the Philippines until the end of World War II. He then attended, at the time, Washington State College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture/Animal Nutrition. Doug managed the Darigold Feed Plant in Chehalis from 1959 through 1983. He worked for Pacific Molasses for four years until he retired. He was a lifelong hardcore Cougar fan. In college he met and married Dorothy Patricia Warkins. They were married 68 years until Dorothy's passing in 2018. They lived in Chehalis from 1959 until his passing.

Doug is survived by his children, Steve (Sheri) Hill and Susan Haerling; grandchildren, Joel, Laura, Katy and Anne; and great-grandchildren, Eva, Bryce, Hailey, Adriana, Adam and Ian. He is preceded in death by brothers Donald Hill and Robert Hill.

A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on Friday, April 25, at 1 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Sticklin Funeral Chapel.
