Dennis graduated from Tenino High School in 1964 and married the love of his life on June 2, 1964, in Tumwater, Washington.
Dennis is survived by his children, Deanna Collins, George (Monica) West, Kacee (Craig) Anderson, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, who he was able to meet before his death.
Dennis was better known as Papa to most. The love he had for his family and those special to him defined the man that he was, and his warmth and kindness were felt by all who met him. To know Dennis was to know love.
Dennis was an avid hunter with a love of sports. He enjoyed camping, fishing, being outdoors, and hanging out with his dog, Cocoa.
Dennis was a member of the United States Air Force from June 1964 until August 1971. While in the Air Force, he had four tours to Guam and Okinawa. Dennis was also a member of the Air National Guard from June 1975 until August 1982. After the Air Force, Dennis was a heavy equipment mechanic for Weyerhaeuser and worked at Washington State Fish and Wildlife before retiring in 2001.
A celebration of life for Dennis and Lorraine will be held on what would have been their 62nd wedding anniversary on June 2, 2026, at Forest Grove Cemetery in Tenino, Washington.
