Posted

David Osby, 64, of Centralia, Washington (formerly of Puyallup, Washington) got his wings on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

David was born on Oct. 3, 1959, in Kentwood, Louisiana. He was the proud son of James and Frances Osby. He was one of 16 children.

David went to Kentwood High School where he graduated in 1977. Soon after, he joined the military, where he served from 1978 to 2005 on active duty and in the reserves. It was also when he met and fell in love with his wife of 26 years. David and Sharon married on July 3, 2000, in Lakewood, Washington, at the Chapel of the Lake.

David loved spending time going camping, or “glamping.” He loved going on trips and vacations as well as spending time with his grandchildren, loved ones and friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, James and Frances Osby, as well as multiple siblings: Shirley Womack, Carolyn Osby, Clarence Osby, Raymond Osby, Melvin Osby, Diane Osby, Curtis Osby, Ronald Osby and Connie Osby-Moore. David also leaves behind three brothers: “Mac” James Osby (Jean), Kenneth Osby (Beverly) and Robert Osby “Bec.”

He is survived by three sisters: Lori Osby-Williams, Catherine Osby-Jackson (Anthony) and Sylvia Osby-Bartlett.

David leaves behind his two beautiful children, Lekiva Wesby (Travis) and Devon Osby (Deanna); his stepchildren, Tyeashia Braggs (Anthony “Tony” Sr.), Jonathan Jefferson II (Nona) and Alexis Clayton (Jon); all of his 14 grandchildren, Tamia, Anthony, Tayana, Dizell, Blake, Brooklyn, Travis Jr. (Monti), Kylie, Braylin, Trinity, Amaya, Audrey and DJ, LeeAnn; one expected grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

David and Sharon would like to send their greatest love and appreciation for all of his friends and family who came during this time, as well as the family and friends who couldn’t be with us but were in prayer. We love you all.

David will be missed but he will never be forgotten.
