Daryl Lynn Ault was born in Chehalis, Washington, on Aug. 5, 1945, to Agnes Lindeman Ault.
Daryl graduated from Morton High School in 1963 and married Lena Birdwell on Aug. 22, 1964. Daryl and Lena celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on Aug. 22, 2026.
Daryl joined the U.S. Navy in 1965 and served four years, including three years abroad on the USS Piedmont. After his discharge from the Navy, Daryl completed his education at Pacific Lutheran University and retired in 2011 from TwinStar Credit Union (Peak) as the assistant vice president of human resources.
Daryl and Lena had two children, Jeffrey Ault and Cynthia Ault Park.
Daryl was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Ault, and son, Jeffrey Ault. He is survived by his wife, Lena Ault; his daughter, Cynthia Ault Park; his grandchildren, Kelsie Ault Stiltner, Ethan West, Garrett Ault, Garth West, Kyrie West and Fiona Ault; and his great-grandchildren, Coy Stiltner, Shane Stiltner, Jensen Stiltner, Jaxx Ault and Lillah Ault.
Daryl served as the unofficial mayor of Kosmos, his childhood home, in 2016. Daryl could often be found enjoying a good pipe and listening to his ham radio or reading a book.
A committal service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 10, 2026, at Morton City Cemetery.
Following the service, a reception will be held at the Bob Lyle Community Center in Morton.
