Daryl Joseph Jersak of Centralia, Washington passed away on Dec. 27, 2022, in his home in the presence of his beloved wife and stepson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Dorothy Jersak, and grandson Justin William Jersak.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dayle LaVerne Jersak of Centralia; sisters Karen Dame, Carol Dooley and Joanne Pavelka; his children Bret Jersak, Brenda Wilcock and Russell Jersak; stepchildren Sally Wiley, Mary Moody and John Duff; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all.

Daryl was born in Hopkins, Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps and attended the University of Minnesota. He worked for and retired from MTS Corp. in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. He moved to the Seattle area in the early 1970s to work at Boeing (as part of an MTS contract). He supported materials and structural testing for all aspects of Boeing’s product lines, both military and commercial. He was, in the words of a colleague, “the miracle man that kept the structural test lab running.” He loved hunting, fishing, walking in the woods, lake life in northern Minnesota, and golfing. He also enjoyed old tractors, car repair work, puttering in his garage, and last but not least, cutting his grass with an old-fashioned push mower. His smile could light up a room. A small memorial is planned for later in the spring.

Cremation was under the care of Neptune Society of Tacoma.
