Charlotte L. McNurlin Pace passed away peacefully Jan. 4, 2026, at the age of 87 in Kelso, Washington, after suffering a major stroke. Born May 15, 1938, in Helena, Montana, Charlotte moved to Chehalis in the early 1960s with her seven children after the loss of her husband, Harley McNurlin Sr. Charlotte bought her home and lived in Chehalis for more than 50 years, where she raised her family.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emily Eastman; her husband, Harley McNurlin Sr.; her second husband, Dale Pace; her sister, Charlene; her sons, Harley Jr., Homer and Jack McNurlin; and her daughter, Valerie Cox. Charlotte is survived by her brothers Dwayne Eastman and Joe Eastman of Napavine; her brother Danny Eastman of Spirit Lake, Idaho; her son Randy McNurlin of Winlock; her son Jesse McNurlin of Chehalis; and her daughter Cindy (Scott) Sweet of Chehalis. Charlotte has numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlotte loved camping, gardening and sewing.
Funeral arrangements have been handled by Columbia Funeral Services, and a memorial will be held at the Centralia Train Depot multipurpose room, 210 Railroad Ave., Centralia, Washington, on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m., with a potluck afterward. Charlotte will be buried in Spirit Lake, Idaho, in a private ceremony by her brother Dwayne and daughter Cindy.
