In Loving Memory of Charles Underwood: 1961-2023

Posted

Charles Roy Underwood “Chuck” passed away in the early morning on May 21, 2023, in Centralia, Washington, surrounded by his loved ones. Charles was born on Oct. 15, 1961, in Dexter, Missouri to his parents Charles and Wanda Underwood. He was one of five children, the only boy.

Charles graduated from high school in Yreka, California. After moving to Washington, he met his wife, Jeannette, they were married on Nov. 6, 1987 in Chehalis, Washington.

Charles enjoyed painting. He painted with his father and then with his uncle. He would always say his hands are only steady when he is holding a paintbrush. He was definitely a Chevy guy — any vehicle he liked was a Chevy. He loved going to car shows with his wife and kids. Charles was known for his crazy sense of humor and always had the ability to make anyone laugh. He was always happy and outgoing. He loved doing anything he could with his grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his wife, Jeannette Underwood; his children Amanda and Christian De Los Santos, Jami and Jose Underwood and Ronnie Jennings; eight grandchildren, Maria, Dulce, Itzel, Ebeni, Araceli, Javi, Julio and Naomi; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Diane and Ken Stoker, Brenda and Alex Lane, Anita and Rick Rowland, and Babby Underwood; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Wanda Underwood.

We will be holding a funeral service at 1 p.m. on June 4, 2023, at Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis, Washington. We will have a potluck celebration of life directly afterwards at Alexander Park in Chehalis.
