In loving memory of Brett Jesse Jackson: Dec. 7, 1964 - Feb. 6, 2025

Posted

Brett Jesse Jackson passed away at his home the afternoon of Feb. 6 in a tragic accident. He will always be remembered as a beloved father, husband, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Brett was born in Olympia, Washington, in 1964 to Marjorie and Jesse Jackson. After attending North Thurston High School, he went to Western Washington University where he obtained his bachelor's degree. After college, Brett worked in physical therapy in Yelm, where he met his wife, Becky. With this marriage, he proudly gained a stepdaughter, Brandy, who he immediately took in as his own. His lifelong interest in the medical field inspired Brett to change careers and join the Yelm Fire Department as a volunteer in 1992. In 1996, he attended school at night to become a paramedic and joined Lacey Fire District 3 upon completion of his training. During this time, Brett and Becky had twin daughters, Allise and Kendra, who he was a devoted father to.

In his free time, Brett enjoyed hiking, construction work, NASCAR and helping others. He was an active member in his community where he worked to share his knowledge with everyone he knew, and even some he didn't. He was deeply loved by all the lives he touched.

Brett will forever be remembered as a hero, in his family, his work and the community he served for 32 years.

Brett will be honored at 10 a.m. March 1 at the Yelm High School Performing Arts Center. All are welcome to join. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memories and pictures be sent to rememberingbrettjackson@gmail.com. And, as always, remember to thank a first responder.
