With deep sorrow, we announce that Bert Richard (Dick) DeMaris left this world on Oct. 18, 2026. He was born in Raymond, Washington, on Nov. 6, 1946, to Bert and Josephine DeMaris.
Dick attended school in South Bend and Amanda Park and soon after served in the Navy aboard the USS Kearsarge. He was a proud member of both the VFW and the American Legion. He went on to build a career as a pipefitter with UA Local 26. In 1979, he married Kathryn King, gaining two bonus daughters, Shannon and Marci. Soon they had a daughter of their own, Danielle.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Terry and Donald. He is survived by his sisters, Nancy Germeaux and Joyce Kidd; partner, Kathy; daughters, Danielle, Shannon and Marci; and grandchildren, Cole and Raven.
Always the life of the party, everyone who knew him has a crazy or funny story. He is remembered with laughter and joy.
