Barbara Ellen Mielitz (Barb) peacefully passed away in her home on June 25, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born March 26, 1941, in Ortonville, Minn. Barb married the love of her life, Wesley, on April 5, 1959. They moved to Centralia, Wash., in 1966.
Barb led a life filled with creativity, dedication, generosity and love, touching the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.
Barb enjoyed playing the piano, baking, gardening, crocheting, embroidery, knitting, quilting and cross-stitch. She also found great joy in reading and writing poems, stories and songs.
A heartfelt Christian, she found comfort and strength in the Bible verse John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Her generous heart was a testament to her deep love for her family.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Edloyr Mathison and Lois Schoon, and her cherished granddaughter, Olivia Ellen Mitchell.
She is survived by her devoted husband of more than 66 years, Wesley Mielitz, and their children, Kary Mielitz, Vicki Mielitz, Suzanne Mitchell and Rebecca Troglin; her beloved 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family and friends of Barb are invited to celebrate her life on July 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the Centralia Bible Chapel.
