In Loving Memory of Ann Borchardt: 1963-2023

Posted

Our beloved Ann Dorothy Borchardt passed away peacefully on April 26, 2023. Ann was born in Chehalis on September 1, 1963, to Dennis and Janette Dorothy.

Ann graduated from W.F. West High School in 1981. In 1991, she graduated from Lower Columbia Community College with a registered nurse (RN) degree. Ann worked as an RN for over 30 years, working at Visiting Nurses, several local and regional hospitals, and the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Ann held many positions throughout her career including charge nurse and ICU nurse. She loved and cared for her patients as if they were her own family members.

Ann married the love of her life, Andy Borchardt, on May 22, 2004. Andy and Ann enjoyed camping, boating, traveling and decorating their home for the holidays. She loved being with her family, friends and many pets. Ann was loving, caring, compassionate, thoughtful, and a great listener and problem solver to those that needed her advice or just someone to talk with during difficult times. She was not afraid of telling you the way it should be, from her perspective, and people loved that about Ann.

Ann is survived by her loving husband Andy Borchardt, and siblings Linda Phillips, June Upchurch, Alan Dorothy, Mark Dorothy and Scott Dorothy. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and fathers- and mothers-in-law, in addition to her hundreds of friends and patients. She is deeply missed as we mourn her unexpected passing.

We would like to thank all of the dedicated, caring and companionate doctors, nurses and clinical staff at Swedish Cherry Hill Hospital that cared for Ann.

A celebration of life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on June 4, 2023, at the Veterans Memorial Museum (Jensen Event Center) in Chehalis, Washington.
