In Focus: Weekly Lewis County Area Hunting Highlights
"Blacktail taken by my boys yesterday!" Chronicle staffer Sarah Burdick wrote when submitting these photos late last month. Left to right in the first image are Sawyer and Spencer Burdick. These deer were harvested during the black-tailed deer general season. Late season starts up again Nov. 17-20. These deer were harvested in "the Willapa Hills area." Sarah Burdick wouldn't provide an exact location so as to avoid giving up her sons' hunting grounds. "My name is Kristina Snodgrass! This was killed in Lewis County on Oct. 25. I'm beyond grateful for this opportunity to be able to provide for my family. I got into hunting about seven years ago thanks to my husband Abraham. He has always been by my side and has taught me everything there is to know about hunting. It's a very rewarding, awesome feeling to be able to get one down and it’s definitely our favorite sport we look forward to each year. Also wanted to wish those out there good luck!"
"Our son Easton Rivera, age 9. First year hunting and filled his tag, harvested from the St. Helens Tree Farm." — Submitted by Mikayla Ellis
