In Focus: Mounted Shooters Put on a Show at T90 Ranch

Posted

The South Sound Mounted Shooters hosted a three-day competition at the T90 Ranch in Tenino last Friday through Sunday.

“Mounted shooting embodies the spirit of the American Old West, where horse and rider — ride fast and accurate, as they compete in a timed event,” stated a news release from the group prior to the event.

Participating riders took aim at 10 balloon targets using .45 caliber single-action revolvers with certified black powder blanks. No live ammunition was used or allowed on the premises at any time.

The event was free to attend. Local craft vendors were also on hand.

South Sound Mounted Shooters is a local, charity based club in south Puget Sound affiliated with the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA).

All South Sound Mounted Shooters events are sanctioned and governed by CMSA rules and regulations.
