Firehouse Construction owner Bryan Porter cut a commemorative ribbon outside the Tiger Stadium concession stand in Centralia on Friday, Nov. 7, to celebrate the opening of his business.
Firehouse Construction recently donated repair services to fix the stand’s roof.
He was joined by his wife, Janae Porter, and Centralia Youth Soccer Player Kian Sills at the event hosted by the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce.
Firehouse Construction provides a range of residential and commercial services, including kitchen and bathroom remodels, decks, home additions, electrical, plumbing and other home improvement projects.
Porter’s experience includes work as a residential and commercial framer, electrical supervisor and maintenance specialist for the Washington state Department of Transportation, and lead technician for Lewis County Maintenance, according to a news release.
“I’ve always wanted to own my own business,” Porter, a lifetime Lewis County resident and Centralia High School graduate, said. “Circumstances aligned allowing me to finally pursue this dream.”
In addition to running his business, Porter volunteers as a firefighter for Lewis County Fire District 8 in Salkum, which serves the Onalaska area. His passion for firefighting inspired the company’s name, Firehouse Construction, and even the logo’s mascot, which is modeled after his Great Dane, Fish, the release stated.
