Hub City Supply announces restructuring and transition to contractor-focused sales

Hub City Supply Co. has announced a restructuring of its operations intended to reduce overhead and create a more sustainable path forward.

Effective Aug. 1, Hub City Supply’s public retail showroom will close indefinitely. The company will transition to a materials-only sales model serving approved contractors and trade customers, according to a news release from the company. Hub City will no longer maintain regular public showroom hours.

As part of the restructuring, Hub City Supply has also stopped accepting new installation projects. Existing signed installation contracts will be completed, but future sales will be limited to materials and special orders.

“This was an extremely difficult decision, but continuing under our current retail and installation model is no longer financially sustainable,” owner Roger Moore said in the release. “Hub City Supply isn’t disappearing, but we have to significantly change how the company operates. Moving forward, our focus will be on providing materials and product support to our contractor and trade customers.”

Hub City Supply will continue offering products that include flooring, windows, doors, cabinets and specialty surfaces. Contractor and trade customers will be served by appointment, phone or email. Existing customers with active orders, signed projects or warranty questions may continue contacting the company for assistance.

The former public showroom is expected to be repurposed as an office for UBuildIt South Puget Sound, also operated by Centralia Boulevard Land Company LLC. UBuildIt provides consulting and project-management support for homeowners and investors building or remodeling single-family homes, accessory dwelling units, multifamily properties and other residential projects.

“Our goal is to preserve the strongest parts of Hub City Supply while developing a service model through UBuildIt that better aligns with my construction experience,” Moore said. “We are grateful to our customers, contractors, vendors, employees, and the local community for their support.”

Additional information about contractor purchasing and future operations will be posted on the business’s website as it becomes available.
