A Snohomish County man arrested in a King County double homicide also has been charged in the December killing of a Pierce County horse.

Three men are suspected of fatally shooting 57-year-old Robert Leroy Frederick Riley and 34-year-old Ashley Nichole Williams on Nov. 16, 2023, in an unincorporated part of King County. The victims' bodies were found under blue tarp and a gray blanket on the side of the road near Maple Valley, according to King County charging documents.

Riley suffered a gunshot wound to the collarbone. Williams was stabbed about 20 times and shot twice, documents show.

Joshua Jones, 34, was arrested in King County and Brandon Gerner, 40, was arrested in Tacoma last week for the homicides, court records show.

A third person, Kody Olsen, 45, was suspected of participating in the homicides. Olsen died Dec. 16 after he was involved in a shooting with Pierce County Sheriff's Department deputies four days before. Olsen failed to stop for deputies for driving under the influence. A pursuit began where he allegedly shot at deputies who fired back, a previous News Tribune story reported.

A witness told detectives that Gerner and Olsen allegedly killed Riley when a drug deal "had gone bad." Williams was stabbed and shot because she was a witness to the alleged crime. Gerner had allegedly shot and killed a dog that was on the property. Jones is accused of helping Gerner take the victims' bodies into a truck and moving them, documents show.

In Pierce County, Gerner is accused of fatally shooting a beloved horse named LeMon on Dec. 17 at a stable on the corner of 132nd Street East and Vickery Avenue East. LeMon was supposed to move to Montana in May where his owner, Delanie Greer-Breakall, resides.

Records show that Gerner allegedly killed LeMon as a "sacrifice to Odin" in response to Olsen's death.

"While I know this doesn't bring LeMon back, in his death he brought closure to other families as well. That's more than what I can ask for in the darkest point of my life," Greer-Breakall told The News Tribune on Thursday.

Gerner was charged in King County with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm for the homicides. He was also charged in King County with first-degree animal cruelty for LeMon's death, court records show.

Jones was charged in King County with two counts of rendering criminal assistance for the double homicide, court records show.

Their arraignments are scheduled for Feb. 28 at the Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.

A Washington State DOC investigator told detectives that Jones, Gerner and Olsen are documented members of white supremacist prison gangs in the state. Gerner is also the founder of a white supremacist prison gang, charging documents show.
