Heritage Community Church and the Veterans Memorial Museum invite the community to attend a special celebration at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, at the Veterans Memorial Museum in Chehalis.

This free, outdoor community event will bring together families, veterans and community members to celebrate America’s heritage of faith and freedom while honoring the men and women who have served the nation in all branches of military service, according to a news release from the museum.

The celebration will feature music, veteran recognition, a special tribute to longtime church music director Dallas Fast, family activities and a complimentary outdoor lunch.

Guests will enjoy free hot dogs, apple pie and ice cream, along with a variety of activities for all ages, including lawn games, children’s activities and opportunities to connect with friends and neighbors from throughout Lewis County.

A highlight of this year’s celebration will be a tribute to Dallas Fast, whose patriotic programs and commitment to honoring veterans helped inspire the vision that led to the establishment and growth of the Veterans Memorial Museum, the news release stated. His love for God, country and community touched countless lives and continues to influence the museum’s mission today, the news release stated.

“One of the greatest strengths of our community is the shared appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy and the sacrifices made to preserve them,” Pastor Darcy Fast of Heritage Community Church said in the release. “This celebration provides an opportunity to honor our veterans, celebrate our nation’s heritage, and bring people together in a spirit of gratitude and unity.”

Admission and all activities are free of charge.
