Daylight saving time for 2025 is beginning to wind down. The clock shift that brought later sunsets in the spring and summer months will end this fall, at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2.
That’s when clocks will move back one hour, returning to standard time for the late fall and winter months. Many modern clocks will adjust automatically, but traditional clocks and older devices will need to be manually set back.
Daylight saving time is scheduled to return in 2026, starting March 8 and continuing until Nov. 1. It begins annually on the second Sunday in March and goes until the first Sunday in November.
Though there has been some talk about either putting an end to daylight saving time or switching over to that time permanently, none of the efforts at the state, regional or national level has picked up enough momentum to create a change.
For the time being, Oregonians and most U.S. residents will continue to “spring forward” and “fall back,” as we have for decades.
