Helen Marie Davis, age 87, died Fri., March 12, 2004 at Rosary Manor in Centralia, WA. She had been a longtime resident of Chehalis and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was born as the first child of Martin and Anna (McHatton) Dyer on May 22, 1916 in Seattle, WA. She was raised in Elma, WA and graduated as saluta-torian from Elma High School in 1933.

She married Ivan E. Davis on Sept. 22, 1942, in Salina, Kansas. They settled in McCleary, WA and later moved to Chehalis in 1956.

Helen worked as a supervisor for the State of WA Bureau of Vital Statistics and retired in the late 1970's.

Her enjoyments and hobbies were traveling, camping, beach combing, painting with watercolors, and large family gather-ings at her home. Her passions were her faith and her family.

Helen was preceded in death by her father and mother, her sister Cather-ine, and her husband Iver.

She is survived by her sister Rita Jacques, of Costa Mesa CA; her three sons and their wives, Robert and Dee Davis of Centralia, Stephen and Charleen Davis and Charles and Joyce Davis of Chehalis, and many nieces and nephews. Five grand-daughters include Tryna (Davis) Steinhoff, Angie (Davis) Heaton, Stacy Davis, Sheryl Davis, and Jennifer (Davis) Porter. Eight great grandchildren include Kathleen Steinhoff, Nicole Steinhoff, Regan Heaton, Nolan Heaton, John Heaton, Alexis Turner, Samantha Turner, and Hannah Porter.

A Vigil Service was held on Tuesday, Mar. 16 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Deacon Loren Lane officating. A Funeral Mass was held on Wed., March 17 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Tuan Nguyen as Celebrant. Interment foll-owed at Napavine Ceme-tery.
