An online GoFundMe fundraiser has been established to support a Randle family of four displaced from a fire that destroyed their residence, vehicles and belongings during the morning of Friday, Aug. 1.
The four occupants were uninjured during the fire, but according to the GoFundMe description, their clothes, phones, electronics and several vehicles were destroyed. The family is looking to raise $50,000 and a donation of a reliable vehicle.
Lewis County Fire Protection District No. 14 in Randle responded Friday morning to a reported structure fire in the area of 140 Kiona Road at approximately 8:50 a.m. A column of smoke was visible immediately from several miles away. Additional units were called from Packwood, Morton and Glenoma to supply water and personnel for the defensive attack.
The fire was contained, and threats to neighboring properties were eliminated as of Friday afternoon, although crews remained on site to extinguish hot spots. Randle Fire Chief Justin Claibourn said initial reports suggest that the fire started in an RV stored next to the residence and then spread to the main residence.
