Four people have been shot and a juvenile is in custody following a shooting investigation on Friday at a home near Riverside Park in Lexington.
Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office reports authorities were notified at about 3:30 p.m. of a shooting at a home in the 1800 bock of West Side Highway following a "child exchange." The home is across from the park and just north of the Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue's Lexington station No. 25.
When they arrived, deputies found three people associated with the home had been shot, while a young male — a suspect — also arrived at PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center with a gunshot wound, according to a sheriff's office press release.
No other identifying information on the victims or suspect has been released.
Authorities say the shooting is related to "a domestic relationship." Shots were fired and a dispute occurred between people at the home and people who arrived in a vehicle for the child exchange, the report continues.
The injured people know each other and are expected to survive.
The juvenile subject has also been released from the hospital and booked into Cowlitz County Juvenile Detention on three counts of first-degree assault and drive-by shooting, according to the press release issued at 9 p.m. Friday.
West Side Highway was closed until at least 5 p.m. Friday due to the investigation.
A Life Flight Network helicopter and ambulances were seen in the area at that time.
Those with information on the case are asked to call 360-577-3092 and reference case A25-10969.
