In its first season as a program, the Centralia boys swimming team is sending four swimmers to the state in Federal Way.
Nigel Nguyen, Eli Baldwin, Will Guthrie, and Jimbo Bringman finished fifth in the 4x100-meter relay race at the district meet at Mark Morris High School over the weekend, securing a spot in the state meet.
Bringman will also be racing in two individual events, as he won the 100-meter fly and placed second in the 200-meter individual medley.
“We are very proud of them,” Centralia co-head coach Chie Bringman said, while highlighting that this is Guthrie’s first year swimming. “With his hard work and dedication, he was able to be part of the relay team, and he swam so hard.”
The four Tigers will compete at the state meet, which is set for Friday and Saturday at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
