Four Centralia Middle School track and field athletes set new school records this season, and the quartet was presented with labels recognizing the new records last week.

Wyatt Oliver ran the mile in 5:09.99 to set the new seventh grade boys mile, while Bailey Gwinn also set a new seventh-grade record on the girls side with a javelin throw of 54 feet, 6 inches.

Skyla Collins and Caden Erickson set new eighth-grade javelin records, as Collins recorded a throw of 122 feet, 3 inches and Erickson logged a throw of 105 feet.

Collins’ throw also ended up being the best of any middle school girl in the country across the entire season, according to athletic.net’s rankings.
