Food Establishment Inspection Scores: From the Lewis County Public Health Department

Editor’s Note: These are reports from health inspections in Lewis County between December 2023 and March of this year. Lewis County Public Health’s inspections happen at various intervals, so reports from the health department include a few locations each. Red violations are those most likely to cause foodborne illness and must be corrected at the time of inspection. Blue violations relate to overall cleanliness and operational conditions and must be corrected by established deadlines or by the next routine inspection. Any establishment receiving 40 red points or any red point item repeated within an 18-month period is considered a high risk and must be reinspected. An establishment that receives 75 red points or 100 total points (red and blue) on a routine inspection or 40 red points on a repeat inspection will have their food establishment permit suspended.

The ice machine needs to be cleaned more often, as there was bacteria and mold growing on the ice. (5 blue)

Napavine Espresso, 102 Second Ave., Napavine — 5/0/5

The mini fridge was reading at 45 degrees Fahrenheit, which was turned down after the inspection. The establishment was instructed to always maintain 41 degrees or lower holding temperature. (5 red)

One mini fridge in the establishment was held at 45 degrees Fahrenheit. The coffee stand was instructed to always stay at or below 41 degrees holding temperature. (5 red)
