A 5-year-old boy from Silver Lake was transported to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center after the ATV he was driving departed the roadway and struck a mailbox at about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 7, according to a memo from the Washington State Patrol.
The child’s name has been redacted from the report. The ATV he was driving, a Polaris Outlaw, is designed for young riders, typically ages 6 and up.
The boy was reportedly wearing a helmet.
According to the state patrol, the ATV was traveling eastbound in the 400 block of Streeter Road when it collided with the mailbox.
No specific injuries were reported.
