Five juveniles were arrested Monday morning after crashing their car into a Tumwater area cannabis dispensary, then later crashing a second vehicle into a pond, Thurston County Sheriff Derek Sanders said in a social media post.
Around 4 a.m. Monday, Chehalis Tribal police responded to a burglary in progress at Thunder Cannabis on 93rd Avenue Southwest. The Chehalis Tribe operates businesses in the area.
The teens crashed a car into the business and burglarized it before driving away in a second vehicle.
"One of our deputies observed the fleeing vehicle in Tumwater, and when he tried to stop the car, the driver fled," Sanders said in his post.
The teens drove the vehicle through Tumwater and later crashed through a fence and into a retention pond on Dennis Street Southwest.
"One occupant surrendered, and the other four occupants fled in different directions. With the help of K9 Mac, Tumwater Police, and a drone from Olympia Police, all five suspects were captured and arrested," Sanders said.
He said the five suspects are from Pierce County and both vehicles were stolen.
