Toledo punched its ticket to the district semis for the second year in a row on Wednesday, using a balanced offensive attack to take down Ilwaco 72-38 in a district quarterfinal at Rochester.
The Riverhawks were in complete control from the opening tip, outscoring the Fisherman 20-6 in the first and 24-3 in the second to take a 44-9 lead into halftime. By the time the fourth quarter came around, the running clock had been instated.
Five different players scored 10 or more points to lead the Toledo offense. Cooper Fallon led the way with 17 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, four assists, and two steals, while Tyce Vigre just missed a double-double of his own with 13 points and eight rebounds.
Adam Kruger scored 12 points, while Trevin Gale and Conner Hill added 10 apiece. Hill also dished out three assists and nabbed two steals defensively.
Toledo (20-3) will look to make its first district title game and make the state tournament for the first time since winning the district title in 2019 next Wednesday, Feb. 19 against Napavine in Kelso.
