Fireworks stands opening in Lewis County as sales already underway in Oakville

While a plethora of fireworks shows are planned throughout the region for the upcoming Independence Day holiday, fireworks stands are also opening this weekend in Lewis County for those looking to launch their own.

Those launching their own fireworks are asked to observe local city or county codes pertaining to the days and times fireworks are allowed to be discharged.

In Lewis County, the Toledo Lions Club has two stands set up — one at the Toledo Market Fresh parking lot at 400 Cowlitz St. in Toledo and the other at Gee Cee’s Truck Stop, located at 123 Foster Creek Road just off of Exit 57 on Interstate 5.

The days and hours of operation, along with information on how to volunteer to help run the fireworks stands, can be found on the Toledo Lions Club’s website at https://toledolionsclub.org/events/fireworks-sales/.

Also in South Lewis County, the Winlock Lions Club’s fireworks stand is located in the 300 block of Northwest Kerron Street across the road from the Winlock Liquidation Warehouse. For more information, visit https://e-clubhouse.org/sites/winlockwa/page-10.php.

According to both websites, sales at the Lions Clubs’ stands begin on Sunday, June 28. Sales at the stands help fund scholarships for local students along with projects and events both Lions Clubs organize.

For those not wanting to wait until Sunday, many of the fireworks stands at the The Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation fireworks district on Anderson Road near Oakville — like Native Thunder Fireworks and Crackling Rose Fireworks — are already open for business and will be through the July 4 holiday.
