City of Centralia Public Works Water Department employees will begin flushing fire hydrants on Monday, April 7.

The hydrant flushing process is preventative maintenance that takes place twice a year to bring fresh water through the lines.

During this process, the City of Centralia’s water is safe to drink. It takes approximately three weeks for staff to work through the entire system, spending a day or less in each neighborhood.
