Fifteen residents of a Snohomish County apartment complex were displaced due to a building fire Saturday evening, according to South County Fire.

Around 10:45 p.m. on Halloween night, crews responded to a fourth-floor fire south of Everett, at the HighGrove Apartments in the 112400 block of Admiralty Way.

A mother and child were trapped on a back deck and were “safely helped” out of the building after responders extinguished the flames, South County Fire reported.

No one was injured.

Firefighters contained the flames to an exterior hallway, and the fire did not spread into any of the apartment units.

The 15 residents were displaced due to smoke and water damage, officials said. The nonprofit organization Support 7 and the American Red Cross Northwest Region responded to help the displaced residents.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Sunday by the Snohomish County fire marshal’s office.
