Elizabeth “Betty” Lee Brannan

Elizabeth “Betty” Lee Brannan was born in Salkum in the spring of 1935, to Mike and Alma Mullens.

In 1953, she graduated from Mossyrock High School. Shortly after graduation, Betty married her husband, John. They were married for 66 years and had three children. She spent many years working as a farmer’s wife and raised the children while John spent his days farming and working other jobs. After her children were grown, Betty spent several years caring for her mother. When her mother passed away, Betty became a volunteer EMT for the Salkum Fire Department. She enjoyed the EMT work and continued it for 20 years. Betty was also a member of the Grange for fifty years. She loved helping the people in her community.

Betty is survived by her husband, John; children, Mike (Kim) Brannan and Sharlee (Larry) Luben; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Pat Mullens.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Suzy Brannan; and brother, Jim Mullens.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at The Salkum Community Church of the Brethren, 149 Wilcox Rd., Salkum, WA 98582. A graveside service will follow at the Doss Cemetery on Coleman Road in Mossyrock. A catered reception will follow at the Salkum Fire Hall, 2495 US-12, Salkum, WA 98582.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Salkum Fire Department.
