A 42-year-old Olympia woman, suspected of driving under the influence and of hit and run, crashed her car between two trees Friday night in Thurston County, the Washington State Patrol reports.
Troopers and Lacey Fire District 3 crews were dispatched to the 9000 block of Pacific Avenue, which is east of Marvin Road, about 7:20 p.m. Troopers responded because that section of Pacific Avenue also serves as state Route 510.
Sometime before she drove off the road, the driver crashed into another driver then left the scene, Trooper John Dattilo said Sunday. He didn't have information on where the first crash occurred, but the driver she hit was not injured, he said.
How did her car wind up between two trees? Dattilo thinks she hit an embankment after driving off the road. The woman was injured, but her injuries were not considered life-threatening, he said.
The woman was released to an area hospital, he said. She faces possible charges for DUI and hit and run.
