Two lanes of northbound Interstate 5 were blocked for over three hours on Sunday morning after a vehicle fleeing from a traffic stop lost control and rolled.
The driver, identified by the Washington State Patrol as Christopher L. Korbe, 39, of Shoreline, was transferred to Madigan Army Medical Center on Joint Base Lewis-McChord for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
He faces possible attempt-to-elude charges.
Korbe was allegedly fleeing from police northbound on I-5 from Nisqually in a silver 2016 Toyota Corolla. He reportedly lost control of his vehicle, struck the Jersey barrier and rolled multiple times before coming to rest on its wheels in the far left lane.
The crash was reported at approximately 9:33 a.m. on Sunday, July 26.
The left and center lanes of northbound I-5 were blocked for three hours and 37 minutes.
State patrol has determined that reckless driving was the cause of the crash, according to an incident report. Troopers have not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol were involved. \
