Downtown Centralia brings back ‘Name That Tune’ with 27 participating locations

The Centralia Downtown Association (CDA) has announced the return of Name That Tune, a holiday window display activity featuring 27 participating businesses, each interpreting a holiday classic through their storefront windows.

Running from Nov. 28 through Dec. 24, Name That Tune invites the community to stroll through downtown, admire the festive displays and put their holiday music knowledge to the test. Participants can pick up a game card at any participating location and try to match each window display with its corresponding holiday song for a chance to win local gift certificates and prizes.

In addition to the guessing game, community voting and special judging return this year. People’s Choice voting will be open throughout the entire event, with QR codes displayed in the windows of participating businesses for on-the-spot voting.

On Dec. 4, a panel of local celebrity judges will award prizes in four categories: Cleverest, Prettiest, Funniest and Judges’ Choice.

“This event is one of our favorite ways to celebrate the season,” said MacKenzie McGee, executive director of the Centralia Downtown Association. “It brings life and laughter to our downtown streets, encourages people to explore local shops and strengthens the sense of community that makes Centralia so special.”

Each participating business has selected its own holiday song, from timeless carols to modern favorites, and is transforming its windows into festive, clever or whimsical visual interpretations of their tune.

The Centralia Downtown Association thanks this year’s presenting sponsor, Let’s Play Something, whose support makes this holiday tradition possible. Additional thanks go to supporting sponsors Centralia Law, Hubbub, The Juice Box and Insert Coin.

Name That Tune is part of the CDA’s ongoing effort to create a vibrant, welcoming downtown that celebrates creativity, connection and local pride throughout the year, according to a news release.
