Dick’s Brewing Co. to celebrate opening of new food truck — Dick’s Sandwich Shop

Dick’s Brewing Company will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony in celebration of its new food truck, Dick’s Sandwich Shop.

The ceremony starts at 3 p.m. Friday, May 9, and takes place at Dick’s Sandwich Shop outside of Dick’s Brewing Company, 3516 Galvin Road, Centralia. The community is invited to join the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce in celebrating Dick’s Brewing Company’s expansion.

Northwest Sausage and Deli first opened its doors in 1983, gaining popularity in Centralia and the surrounding communities. In 1994, owner Dick Young turned his hobby of brewing beer into a business and opened Dick’s Brewing Company. For the past 31 years, locals have been enjoying Dick’s beer at their production facility and tasting room in Centralia.

After Young died in 2009, his daughter, Julie Pendleton, and her husband, Dave, took over as owners at both Northwest Sausage and Deli and Dick’s Brewing Company. While the deli sells food, the brewery does not, so the Pendletons saw an opportunity to sell food at the brewery and continue Young’s legacy by opening a food truck.

The food truck menu will use meat and other ingredients from the deli and will have everything from smash burgers and sandwiches to appetizers such as fried pickles and mozzarella bites.

“The feedback that we’ve gotten has been really good, really positive. Everybody loves the food that they’ve tried. We have regulars that come every week and test out different menu items,” Julie Pendleton said.

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce hosts ribbon-cutting ceremonies for local businesses that are expanding, rebranding or celebrating significant milestones. These ceremonies are available for both members and non-members of the chamber.
