Denault’s Double-Double Paces Tigers Past Spartans

Bouncing back from a defeat in the 2B District 4 quarterfinals, the Napavine boys basketball team thumped Forks in Rochester Friday night in the consolation bracket, 66-41. 

Sophomore forward Karsen Denault scored a game-high 21 points to go along with 15 rebounds and six steals in a dominant display from the post, helping the Tigers to a 45-33 rebound advantage as a team. 

James Grose added another 18 points, and Jack Nelson hauled in seven rebounds as the Tigers easily dispatched the Spartans to move on to the second consolation round.

Napavine is scheduled to play against Ilwaco next Wednesday at Castle Rock at 7 p.m.
