Travelers on state Route 6 in Lewis County should plan for daytime delays, a news release from the Washington state Department of Transportation (WSDOT) warned.
Beginning Monday, Sept. 14, WSDOT maintenance crews and Boistfort Valley Water began the work to replace a buried water main line on state Route 6 between Clinton Street and Twin Oaks Road just west of Chehalis.
Replacing the buried water main helps ensure a reliable water supply and reduce the risk of leaks, breaks and unexpected water service disruptions.
Through Monday, Oct. 12, travelers in both directions of state Route 6 between Clinton Road (milepost 45.6) and Twin Oaks Road (milepost 46.2) will take turns moving through a single lane daily from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Flaggers will direct travelers through the area.
Travelers should slow down, stay focused and expect delays through the work zone, the WSDOT stated.
