Centralia artist, author and creative guide Sage Adderley is transforming one of downtown’s historic storefronts into a cozy, immersive creative space for one weekend this November.
Part of the Roots Collective Storefront Takeover Series, a Creative Studio Pop-Up with Sage Adderley will open from Nov. 21 to 23 at 412 N. Tower Ave. in Centralia.
The pop-up will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
The event will feature original art, handmade gifts and interactive experiences that invite visitors to explore their own creativity, according to a news release.
“I’ve spent over 20 years supporting other creatives in sharing their stories,” Adderley said. “This pop-up is the first time I’m fully claiming a space to showcase my own work — my paintings, my books, my zines — and to create a hands-on experience where people can connect through creativity.”
The weekend-long event offers a mix of artistic displays and activities designed to spark inspiration for all ages.
Visitors will be able to:
• Make their own mini zine or pinback button at interactive tables
• Browse books and zines from Adderley’s small press, Tell Your Stories Publishing
• Explore original mixed-media paintings from her Sacred Roots Studio collection
Adopting a creative, grassroots approach to her business, Adderley hopes this pop-up will deepen connections within the local arts community.
Adderley, who relocated to the area after running her business online for two decades, now combines her passions for storytelling, art and community through both in-person and online offerings, the release stated.
The pop-up is free to attend, family-friendly and designed to offer visitors a warm and engaging experience during the holiday season, as well as an opportunity to shop small and support a local creative.
