COVID Cases Increase in Lewis County, Remain Low

Posted

For over five weeks now, Lewis County has reported new COVID case totals below 30.

After 24 cases were reported from April 7 to April 14, this last reporting week of April 15 to April 21 showed 28 new cases.

Three new hospitalizations were reported from the viral disease, the same as the previous week. Two new deaths were caused by COVID-19 in the last reporting week, which is an increase from the one prior.

Total case numbers may be underreported due to the popularity of at-home testing, which the county does not track. Over the last week, 113 individuals were tested at the Lewis County Mall Discovery Health Test Site in the current  reporting week; 8,764 tests have been administered since the site opened in November.

The COVID-19 vaccine remains available to all people 5 years and older for free. To find COVID-19 vaccine appointments and locations, visit https://vaccinelocator.doh.wa.gov/.
