The Cowlitz County Coroner's Office has identified the motorcyclist who was struck by a vehicle on May 23 in Lexington and later died.
According to a press release, Troy R. Wood, 56, of Castle Rock, was forensically identified through fingerprints as the lone fatality, with the cause of death being multiple blunt-force injuries.
Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Chief Criminal Deputy Troy Brightbill previously said Wood died at the scene.
Brightbill said the crash occurred when Wood, who was going north on North Pacific Avenue, stopped behind a school bus that was dropping off students in the 3100 block of North Pacific Avenue near Alpenridge Lane.
Brightbill said a 34-year-old woman from Castle Rock was driving a van headed north. He did not name her.
As the van came down a hillcrest, the driver saw the bus and motorcycle at the last second. She swerved to avoid the school bus, but was unable to avoid hitting the motorcycle.
Brightbill also said that after a preliminary investigation, neither intoxicants nor excessive speed played a role in the crash.
