Chehalis Farmers Market Plant Sale

May 9 on Boistfort Street in Downtown Chehalis; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The farmers market is opening its 19th season with a plant sale. The market has over 25 farmers and vendors selling items. The market accepts EBT/SNAP and will continue the Market Match program where it will match up to $25 spent on local produce.  For more information, visit https://chehalisfarmersmarket.com/. 

 

Winlock Cemetery District Public Meeting

May 10 at 407 Cowlitz Road, Winlock; 7 p.m.

The public is invited to this meeting. Meetings take place on the second Wednesday of each month. 

 

2023 Lewis County Historic Bike Ride

May 13 at Jackson Prairie Church, 4224 Jackson Hwy., Chehalis; 7 a.m.

There will be a breakfast hosted by the Jackson Prairie Church from 6:30 to 8 a.m. All rides are family friendly. Children under 18 ride free with a paying adult. There is a 12 mile, 50 mile, 70 mile and a 107 mile ride. Riders can start anytime between 7 and 8:30 a.m. Support closes at 4 p.m. There will be food stops. Cornhole Tournament to Raise Money for Special Needs Students

May 13 at Dick’s Brewing, 3516 Galvin Road, Centralia; 11:30 a.m.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the tournament will last from 12 to 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person and only those ages 21 and over may enter. There will be four round-robin games, a single elimination tournament, beer, food, prizes, raffles and a dessert auction. Partners will be chosen by random drawing to make the tournament more fun for players of all skill levels from beginner to advanced. 

 

Mother’s Day Bingo

May 13 at the Chehalis Eagles, 1993 S. Market Blvd., Chehalis; 2 to 4 p.m.

The Twin Cities Rotary is hosting the event. There will be 11 games. Attendees can purchase a packet of 10 cards for $20. The final game costs $3 per card or two cards for $5. All proceeds go toward Twin Cities Rotary’s efforts to support the local community.

 

Mother’s Day Night Market by Gemini Events

May 13 at Jester Auto Museum, 321 Hamilton Road, Chehalis; 3 to 8 p.m.

Visitors can shop from over 40 vendors. Admission and parking is free.

 

Centralia Police Department Community Meeting

May 16 at Borst Park Kitchen #2, Centralia; 6 to 8 p.m.



This meeting will focus on issues with emergency response. This event is an opportunity for citizens of Centralia to meet with police officers to discuss issues within their neighborhoods. 

 

Defensive Tactics Class

May 18 at Toledo New Life Church, 420 Silver St., Toledo; 6 to 8 p.m.

This class is one of eight put on by Toledo’s Crime Deterrent Program and is for women and girls. The class is taught by Tiffany Schumann and Bill Garrison. Schumann served nine years in the U.S. Army, three of which she spent as a combative instructor, and trained with several Elite Force Groups. Garrison has been a martial arts teacher since 16 and holds a brown belt in jiu jitsu and a black belt in aikido. Both live in Toledo. The event is free. Centralia Mothers of Preschoolers Garage Sale

May 20 at Grace Foursquare Church, 3030 Borst Ave., Centralia; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will be clothes for infants to adults, shoes, household items, toys, strollers and more. There will also be a bake sale.

 

21st Annual Master Gardener Home and Garden Show

May 20 and 21 at the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds, 32 Elma McCleary Road, Elma

Hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 20 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21. Admission and parking are free. There will be presentations on gardening issues. There will also be a Master Gardener store providing opportunities to buy items to support the group. 

 

Second Annual Mattress Fundraiser

May 20 at the W.F. West High School Commons, 342 SW 16th St., Chehalis; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Silent Comedy

The Silent Comedy is a rock-and-roll band. Joshua and Jeremiah Zimmerman are brothers who grew the band.
