Columbia River spring chinook salmon season to continue to Tuesday

Columbia River spring chinook salmon anglers will get to continue fishing through the weekend, as well as Monday and Tuesday.

The season was scheduled to close Friday, but Oregon and Washington managers met Thursday morning and agreed to allow four more days.

Biologists said fishing success has been slow enough to allow more days, with plenty remaining on the sport allocation for March and April.

The numbers, they said, are tracking like a typical late run into the Columbia system.
