Christmas Island, a family tradition in Thurston County since 1941, is ready to celebrate this 2023 Christmas season at its home since 2012, the Maytown Assembly of God Church, 2920 Tierney St. SW, Olympia.
All are invited to the opening ceremony at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25.
Featured this year is music by Joysong Victorian Carolers at 5 p.m. followed by the nativity lighting and fireworks at 6 p.m. Food and beverage concessions, including Avenue Espresso, will be available.
From Sunday, Nov. 26, to Dec. 29, the Christmas Island lights and drive-thru will be open every evening from 5 to 9 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
“The Fire Barn at Christmas Island will be hosted and serving homemade Christmas cookies, hot beverages and a warm fire for you, your family and friends to enjoy,” organizers stated in a news release. “Please join us during this holiday season to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.”
