Chipotle scheduled to open in Centralia ‘within next few months’

Chipotle Mexican Grill will soon have a new home in Centralia, but the expected location has changed.

Chipotle will open a location at 1161 Harrison Ave., former home of Starbucks near Safeway, “within the next few months,” a Chipotle spokesperson confirmed to The Chronicle.

The Port of Centralia previously announced in September 2024 that Chipotle would be a tenant in its Centralia Station development, which also includes WinCo Foods and will soon feature Chick-fil-A, Wilco Farm Store and Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union.

However, according to interim Port of Centralia Executive Director Amy Graber, Chipotle opted out of the Centralia Station location and decided to move into the 1161 Harrison Avenue location as the building was available.

The building, owned by Centralia Pacific LLC, has an assessed value of $1,899,700, according to Lewis County Parcels. Graber said Chipotle had the desire to open in Centralia sooner, as the port is still working through the boundary line adjustments and other work for the Centralia Station where Chipotle was supposed to be built.

Now, the developer is in search of “an equivalent ideally” to Chipotle to be its next tenant for the Centralia Station, Graber said.

Chick-fil-A, Wilco Farm Store and Great NorthWest Federal Credit Union will still be involved in the development of Centralia Station, Graber confirmed.
