Children’s Nature Activity Set for Saturday Morning at Seminary Hill Natural Area

Posted

Children of all ages can examine and touch animal pelts, antlers and skeletons during the free Children’s Nature Activity this Saturday morning at the Seminary Hill Natural Area.

Wildlife biologist Jessica Homyack of Chehalis will return to present this popular activity.

Homyack will give a short presentation on the wildlife of the Pacific Northwest then answer questions as children get a chance to personally study specimens that are designed for all ages to enjoy. As always, there will be a chance to hike the 70-plus acres of the century-old Seminary Hill Natural Area.

“This is always one of our most popular events,” said Brian Mittge, president of the Friends of the Seminary Hill Natural Area. “The kids really enjoy it, and truth by told, so do the adults. Jessica does a wonderful job helping spark the wonder and joy of discovery and learning about our environment. I’d encourage anyone with young kids in their life to bring them to Seminary Hill this Saturday!”

The volunteer members of the Friends of the Seminary Hill Natural Area are sponsoring the event, and will be providing free cookies and beverages (coffee for adults and hot cocoa for the kids.)
