Experience Chehalis will present the annual ChehalisFest on Saturday, July 25.
It’s a summer celebration filled with classic cars, shopping, live music, family activities, local vendors and hometown fun, organizers stated in a news release.
The day begins with the Blueberry Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Lewis County Historical Museum, providing a starting point for residents before heading downtown to enjoy ChehalisFest, according to the release.
Families can find plenty to enjoy in the Kids Zone at Prindle Street and Chehalis Avenue, featuring games, face painting, balloon creations and mini golf, a new addition this year. Down the street, visitors can explore the City of Chehalis Touch-a-Truck display, where kids of all ages can get an up-close look at a fire truck and other city vehicles.
More than 70 vendors will fill downtown streets during the Gemini Events ChehalisFest Vendor Fair, offering handcrafted goods, artwork, local products and boutique shopping. A variety of food trucks will also be on hand throughout the day, the news release stated.
Car enthusiasts will not want to miss the ChehalisFest Car Show, sponsored by Experience Chehalis. Vehicle check-in begins at 7 a.m., with the show opening to the public at 9 a.m. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m., and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Veterans Memorial Museum and Experience Chehalis.
Visitors can enjoy live music on Prindle Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Also returning is the ChehalisFest Scavenger Hunt, encouraging festival-goers to visit participating downtown businesses. Every completed stop earns participants an entry into a drawing for $200 in local gift cards, with many businesses also offering exclusive specials, discounts and giveaways, according to the release.
Downtown businesses will join in the celebration with sidewalk sales, special promotions, pop-up activities and unique shopping experiences throughout the day.
“ChehalisFest is a celebration of everything that makes our downtown special,” Annalee Tobey, executive director of Experience Chehalis, said in the news release. “It’s a day to support local businesses, connect with friends, enjoy great entertainment, and create lasting memories together in the heart of our community.”
