Chehalis Police Department asks public for help identifying suspects who stole an ATM with a forklift

The Chehalis Police Department has asked the public for help identifying a suspect or suspects who used a forklift to steal an ATM from the front of the Washington State Employees Credit Union building in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue on Sunday, Jan. 13.

According to the Chehalis Police Department, the suspect or suspects moved the ATM with a forklift to the Home Depot parking lot, where the machine was opened and an “undisclosed amount of cash” was taken.

Chehalis police officers were dispatched to the scene after the ATM was discovered at about 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 13. Police were still investigating as of Tuesday, Jan. 16, when Chehalis Police Department issued a news release.

One of the two suspects, identified by the Chehalis Police Department as Keith S. Kimball, 27, of Spanaway, was arrested in Pierce County on unrelated charges on Thursday, Jan. 18, according to a Friday news release. 

"With the assitance of the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, we served multiple warrants at the Spanaway location and recovered evidence related to this investigation," the Chehalis Police Department said in a news release. 

As of Friday, Jan. 19, Kimball was in  custody at the Piece County Jail on unrelated charges. Charges related to the theft in Lewis County have been referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor's Office, according to the Chehalis Police Department.
