Chehalis police have arrested a woman suspected of stealing over $12,000 from her former employer.

Acacia X. Davidson, 35, was booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 12:10 p.m. Tuesday. She was scheduled for a preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court on Wednesday.

According to a Tuesday news release from the Chehalis Police Department, detectives began investigating the case in late February, after a local business owner reported a “significant theft complaint.”

“Financial discrepancies were discovered after the suspect’s employment with the business was terminated,” the department said.

The unnamed business is located in the 1200 block of Northwest State Avenue.

“The business owner provided detectives with an accountant’s report that identified a loss of more than $12,000,” the department said.

During the investigation, detectives reportedly discovered that roughly 90 fraudulent purchases had been made using the business’s account.

The purchased items were allegedly shipped to Davidson’s home, according to police.

Detectives reportedly contacted Davidson at her current job in Longview. She was subsequently arrested and booked into jail for first-degree theft and first-degree identity theft.

The case remains active, police said.
