A Chehalis man accused of threatening to throw a firecracker into the Main Street Food Mart in June has been convicted on one count of harassment, threat to kill, after entering an Alford plea, meaning the defendant does not admit but pleads guilty to take advantage of a plea deal.

James L. Williams, 35, entered a plea on Aug. 10 and was sentenced to 68 days’ jail time with credit for 68 days already served.

“I don’t remember these events but want to take advantage of the state’s offer to avoid the possibility of additional time in custody,” said Williams in his written guilty plea.
